Airborne dust is both a safety liability and a compliance exposure — at transfer points on a conveyor, in a crusher house, on a stockpile, or across a plant yard, uncontrolled particulate puts workers at risk of respiratory harm and puts a facility at risk of a permit violation. Effective dust suppression is a droplet-size problem more than a flow-rate problem: droplets that are too large fall through a dust cloud without capturing fine particulate, while droplets that are too fine drift away as mist before they can bind dust to the ground or to the material itself.
